This one is a casual, musical jaunt along a path of melody…

I fell hard for this song by Jimetta Rose when I first heard it last year.

The understated way the production builds, the smart layering of her vocals, and the undeniable quality of her voice – it’s just so catchy and radiant. And the melody was hauntingly familiar. I could place the origin and era of the original, but I couldn’t pull specifics of artist or song from whatever brain crevice it’d been lost inside. I could just hum along and try to stretch my fingers a little farther in order to reach the Grail.

But life goes on. Some other song got stuck in my head, or I saw a shiny object, and suddenly it’s months later — a completely different season. I’m in the kitchen and my wife enters with the intention of playing a song she’d recently stumbled across. And I should prepare myself for ... 💥
